Woods of Westlake

Woods of Westlake is a great pocket community on the fringes of Westlake.  The original section consists of about 115 homes built in the early ’80s.  It is nestled off of Capital of Tx Hwy about 5 minutes from downtown.
I chose this community for my personal home.  The main attraction for my family was the proximity to downtown, shopping, Eanes School District and access the Barton Creek Greenbelt.  We love the access to the greenbelt and take advantage of it daily.  We have two large dogs that need a lot of exercise – so you can find us hiking the greenbelt every morning.  This greenbelt access point is also referred to as the “hill of life”.  Upon entering the greenbelt you are on top of the hill of life which is a 1/2 mile hike down.  When you get to the bottom of the hill there are numerous trails to explore with natural waterfalls, caves and more.  If you choose this neighborhood for your home just know that Austin loves their greenbelts and they are public so you do need have patience with the visitors and their parking.
The homes in the Woods of Westlake are single family and range in size from 1800-3000 sq. ft. Price ranges are from $400K – $500K in the original section. There are two other sections with larger and newer homes: Woods of Westlake Hilltop and Barclay Heights at the Woods of Westlake.
